there's a check in my purse
it's made out to a pirate.
it was from when i was young,
and i made out with a pirate
on the ocean.
and i promised him that
i'd pay him back for the adventure
and he said he'd come pick it up sometime,
he'd come pick it up sometime,
his treasure.

now i ride a boat
with my pirate.
you see, the funny thing is
i thought his treasure was money
but it was me.
